Health Humanities is an interdisciplinary minor that builds bridges between health, humanities, literature, the arts, and psychology.

What is unique about this program?

The Health Humanities minor offers interdisciplinary courses that support students in any major field of study. The minor introduces students to the ways various disciplines approach health and medicine. Its mission is to provide students with opportunities for holistic insight into the multiple dimensions of healing. Courses allow students to pursue the minor in consort with their chosen major.

What skills will I learn in the Health Humanities minor?

  • You will learn how the arts and humanities inform our understanding of illness, health, and healthcare experiences.
  • You will develop an understanding of the critical role that psychology and ethics play in navigating health dilemmas, patient care, and policy.
  • You will learn to apply creative thinking and artistic practices to interpret and address issues of illness and health, both within communities and in personal self-reflection.
